THIRD GENERATION LIGHT SOURCES
Household lamps based on LED (third generation) have a number of advantages in relation to incandescent lamps (first generation) and gas-discharge lamps (second generation): the lowest cost per 1 W of electrical power, unique durability (up to 50 000 hours), compact size etc.
Disadvantages of LEDs: large body of glow size (tens of microns) that doesn’t allow you to use the power of radiation effectively so energy-efficiency of LEDs is 70 times worse than that of laser diodes with as small body of glow size as 1-2 microns, uncontrollable emission spectrum with a pronounced spike at 440-460 nm.
FOURTH GENERATION LIGHT SOURCES WITH SPECKLE SUPPRESSOR
In comparison with the LED, the Laser Light Source (LLS) has several advantages: ability to manage the spectrum during the day by analogy with sunlight, adjust the spectral composition of light, depending on the buyer's request (child-care facilities, offices, living accommodation). Intermittent nature of the spectrum absents in the LLS. The LLS is tens times more efficient than LEDs.
LAMPS LUMINANCE AT A POWER OF 1 W:
- ✪ Traditional lamps ~ 0,1W/(Ω*м2)
- ✪ 3rd generation lamps based on LEDs ~ 0,14 W/(Ω*м2) - in 1,4 times more efficient than traditional ones;
- ✪ 4th generation lamps based on laser diodes ~ 10 W/(Ω*м2) in 70 times more efficient than LEDs.
